In a busy household, everyone has a different day. Papa leaves early for office, Mummy manages the home and perhaps a small business, the college-going son is hunting for internships, Dadi begins her day with prayer, and the youngest wants to play. Kayastha Setu has many features, and the trick is not to use all of them. It is to pick the right few for each person. Here is a simple guide, member by member, with ideas that take only a few minutes a day.
For parents
Parents carry the family's planning, safety and social duties. These features save them time.
- SOS Emergency: Add up to 5 emergency contacts and fill the medical card once. In an emergency, holding SOS for 3 seconds sends an SMS with your name and live location to every contact.
- Doctor, Vakil & Professionals: Find a doctor, advocate or CA from the community by profession and city, and call or WhatsApp in one tap.
- Birthdays, Wishes & Gifts: A morning reminder tells you whose birthday it is, so no relative feels forgotten.
- Kayastha Matrimony: When the time comes for a child's rishta, see admin-approved community profiles with family details and kundli info. This is part of Premium.
Two minutes a day: check the birthday reminder and send one-tap wishes over morning tea.
For youth and students
Young people want opportunities, a safe place to stay and a sense of belonging.
- Kayastha Jobs: Searching and applying for jobs is free. Save a job profile and resume, apply in one tap and track applications.
- Room, Flat & PG: Moving to a new city for study or work? Filter by city, type and budget and contact owners directly.
- Nearby Members: See how many community members live within 5, 10, 25 or 50 km, and say Namaste. Exact locations are never shown.
- Gyan Mahasangram: The weekly live quiz every Sunday evening, with questions in Hindi and English.
Five minutes a day: check new job openings, and play a practice quiz round on the way home.
For elders
For grandparents, the app can be a daily companion for faith, family and peace of mind.
- Live Aarti & Darshan: Watch live aarti from temples with big, simple controls.
- Digital Mala: Choose a mala and mantra such as "ॐ श्री चित्रगुप्ताय नमः" and tap anywhere to move each bead. The app keeps the daily streak.
- Daily Panchang: Tithi, Rahu Kaal, sunrise, sunset and upcoming vrat for your location.
- Gita Saar: Read shlokas with simple Hindi and English meaning while the audio recites them.
- Kaya: Instead of searching, just ask by voice, for example "Aaj ka panchang batao".
Ten minutes in the morning: join the live aarti, complete one mala and check the day's tithi.
For kids
Children need fun that is safe, and a little learning about their roots.
- Kids Zone: 20+ safe, ad-free games, including Rang Jodo colour sort, the Hindi-English Shabd Setu puzzle, math balloons, chess and Tambola for the whole family.
- Kayastha Gyan: Simple chapters about Bhagwan Shri Chitragupta ji, the 12 vansh and Kalam-Dawat puja.
- Darshan, Aarti & Bhajan: Sing along with aartis and bhajans with Hindi lyrics on screen.
Fifteen minutes after homework: one game, then one short chapter of Kayastha Gyan with a grandparent.
For home-makers and home businesses
Whoever runs the kitchen and the household budget, and perhaps a small business from home, will find these useful.
- Aaj Kya Banaye? Rasoi Sakhi AI: Pick the meal, diet (veg, Jain, vrat, egg or non-veg), time and mood, and get three dish ideas with step-by-step recipes and timers.
- Recipes & Parampara: Read and save traditional Kayastha recipes and add your own family's version.
- Marketplace & Business Listing: Browse products and services from community businesses and order on WhatsApp. Running a business? List it with photos and your brand logo to reach community families.
- Shubh Sandesh: Make good morning and festival cards with your own photo and name and share them on WhatsApp.
Three minutes before cooking: ask Rasoi Sakhi for today's ideas and end the daily "kya banaun" puzzle.
