1Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Kayastha Setu mobile application, the website kayasthasetu.com and all related services (together, the "Platform"), operated by Kayastha Setu ("we", "us", "our").

By creating an account, signing in, or using the Platform in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Cancellation & Refunds Policy and Disclaimer. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

These Terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, and do not require any physical or digital signature.

2Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Minors may use features such as Kids Zone only under the supervision of a parent or guardian who holds the account.
• Matrimony profiles may only be created for persons who have reached the legal age of marriage in India (21 for men, 18 for women), by the person themself or by a parent, sibling or relative with their consent.
• You must provide true, accurate and complete information and keep it updated.

3Your Account & Login

• You register and sign in using your mobile number, verified by a one-time password (OTP). Your mobile number is your primary identity on the Platform.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account. Do not share OTPs or let others use your device to access your account.
• One person may hold only one account. Duplicate, fake or impersonating accounts may be removed without notice.
• Inform us immediately at support@kayasthasetu.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

4Our Services

The Platform offers community features including family directory, matrimony, business directory, marketplace, jobs, community timeline, events, live aarti & devotional content, panchang, digital mala and kids' games. Some features are free and some are available only to Premium members. We may add, change or discontinue features at any time.

5Premium Membership & Payments

• Premium membership costs ₹149 per month, inclusive of 18% GST (₹126.27 + ₹22.73 GST). Prices may change in future; any change will be notified in advance and will apply only from the next billing cycle.
• Premium benefits include the blue Verified badge, full matrimony tools, business & product listings, job posting, priority placement and an ad-free experience, as described on our pricing section.
• The Verified badge indicates an active paid membership with a verified mobile number. It is not a background check and is not a guarantee of any person's identity, character, income or intentions.
• Payments are processed by third-party payment gateways or app stores (Google Play / Apple App Store). We do not store your card, UPI or banking details.
• Membership is valid for the paid period. If you do not renew, your account automatically moves to the Free plan and Premium benefits (including the badge) are removed.
• Cancellations and refunds are governed by our Cancellation & Refunds Policy.

6Community Guidelines & Acceptable Use

The Platform is built for respectful, family-friendly interaction. You agree not to:

• Post content that is false, obscene, defamatory, hateful, communal, harassing, or that violates anyone's privacy or intellectual property;
• Impersonate any person, or create profiles without the consent of the person concerned;
• Use matrimony for any purpose other than seeking a matrimonial alliance, or demand or offer dowry in any form;
• Scrape, copy or export member data, or send spam, chain messages or unsolicited promotions;
• Sell prohibited, counterfeit or illegal goods or services in the Marketplace;
• Attempt to hack, overload or reverse-engineer the Platform or bypass any security measure;
• Do anything prohibited under Rule 3 of the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 or any applicable law.

7Content You Post

You retain ownership of the content (posts, photos, profiles, listings) you upload. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display and distribute that content on the Platform solely to operate and promote the services. You confirm you have the right to post it.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms, on our own review or on receiving a complaint, as required by law.

8Marketplace, Business & Jobs

Listings in the Marketplace, Business Directory, Services and Jobs are posted by members. Kayastha Setu is an intermediary and is not a party to any transaction, employment or service between members. Price, quality, delivery, payment and warranty are solely between the buyer and the seller. Please verify before you pay or share documents.

9Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, misuse the Platform, or if required by law. Blocked members can write to compliance@kayasthasetu.com with their name and registered number to request a review. You may delete your account at any time from the app or by writing to us.

10Intellectual Property

The Kayastha Setu name, logo, design, software and original content are our property and are protected by Indian and international laws. You may not copy, modify or use them without our written permission.

11Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from interactions, alliances or transactions between members. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.

12Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable consumer-protection law, courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra shall have exclusive jurisdiction. We encourage you to first contact us so we can try to resolve the issue amicably.

13Grievance Officer

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, complaints about content or the services may be sent to our Grievance Officer at grievance@kayasthasetu.com. We will acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.

14Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version. Continued use of the Platform after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
